Be My Valentine Series 2 – Perfectly Plum

[quote_box author=”John Gay (1688-1732)” profession=””]

O ruddier than the cherry!
O sweeter than the berry!
O nymph more bright
Than moonshine night,
Like kidlings blithe and merry!
Ripe as the melting cluster!
No lily has such lustre;
Yet hard to tame
As raging flame,
And fierce as storms that bluster![/quote_box]

Hello readers! Welcome to series 2 of Be My Valentine, entitled Perfectly Plum.

Today’s look is a sultry smokey eye that is perfect for an evening out and looks fantastic with a little black dress. Since the eyes are so intense, the rest of the face is neutral with a light shade of colour on the lips and cheeks.

Daytime Drama

Hello lovelies!

Yesterday I decided to do a twist on the classic red lips with a winged liner.  I wanted to do a similar look but without the red lips; it had to be easy to wear, daytime appropriate and yet bold enough to still stand out. Face it, sometimes finding the right shade of red can be challenging and time consuming, not to mention intimidating.

I decided to go for a bright coral colour on the lips and instead of doing a black winged liner I did a navy blue liner. Overall I think the entire looked worked in harmony with each other and I loved how it turned out.

You can re-create this look easily as well as substitute the navy liner for a chocolate brown, burgundy, gray, soft black, black or any color you feel comfortable with.

Here is the look…

Getting Colourful

Hello beauties, welcome to Thea Makeup Artistry’s very first blog post!

Today I wanted to post a few photos from a fabulous fun shoot I did with Photographer Li Welch of Caylight  and Artist, Charrish Ferguson of Caicos Creatives on January 26th, 2014.

The shoot started out with our amazing model Nikeira. Here is a BEFORE photo so you can have an idea of the overall transformation as the shoot progressed.

Before

BEFORE

In the AFTER photo below, you can see that all discolorations and acne scars have been covered and the skin tone has been evened out. This was accomplished by using Sacha Cosmetic’s Kamaflage Foundation which is a full coverage formula along with Revlon’s Colorstay Whipped foundation; I then set the makeup using Sacha’s Pressed Powder.

To “oomph” up the look, the following products were used:
Eyes – Inglot’s eyeshadows #369, #371, #315 and #328; MAC’s gel liner in Blacktrack and  L’oreal’s Telescopic Mascara
Brows – A combination of MAC’s brow pencil in Spiked and  Anastasia Beverly Hills brow powder in Taupe
Lips liner – MAC’s lip pencil in Mahogany
Lipstick – MAC’s Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Soft Sell combined with Revlon’s Matte Stormy Pink #011
No blush or contouring was done.
